Holiday snaps anyone?
No I won't put you through that torture but I wanted to mention my recent holiday, both the area and hotel pleasantly exceeded my expectations.

Location: Perthshire on the banks of Loch Earn in a very picturesque friendly village called St. Fillans. It was great.

Accommodation: A hotel ironically with the same name as the well known chain 'Four Seasons' but as independent as they get.

We booked a chalet rather than a room. We asked for the one with with the best view (and it delivered.) The food was excellent as was the decor in the hotel. (The decor has just been completed this spring by Graven Images apparently.)

The owner has by the look of some amazing prints of his photography done a LOT of travelling around Nepal, Tibet, China etc and his passion for that has been used as the inspiration for the interior design. Which I'm sure you'll agree is a welcome change from the usual tartan carpets etc.

It's a really lovely spot and a charming hotel, a good one if you feel like a bit of escape.

If you have read the blog about the sheep sign and my adventuring around Holyrood park with 17 dogs, you will appreciate why the simplicity of this sign I saw in my mates holiday shots made me smile. This is my mate Kev and the sheep sign he found.

This sign is perhaps not as effective in attracting dogs and their owners to read it and certainly not the type of sign that might be the hero at a press launch in Holyrood park, but still it does the job.

Adrian and Brian take note next time if we could try not to be clever, perhaps it's not so effective but at least I won't have to get down and dirty with the dog food.

bandwagon?

See if you can guess what I will be doing this weekend...

High heels? Check.
Planned outfit? Check.
Cocktail venue agreed? Check.
Handful of excitable female friends? Check.

Yes. Me and my pre-booked tickets are off to see the new Sex and the city film, and yes to Adrian and Brian's amazement I am looking forward to it.

Although a willing part of it I have been truly amazed at the phenomenon that has taken over women throughout the UK this week. I know women who are going last night, tonight, tomorrow matinee, tomorrow night,Sunday night etc.

I love the fact everyone is dressing up for it like we are all in it or going to the premiere. Heels are a mandatory, most have planned an outfit. And, yes, there are quite a few cocktail dresses out and proud.

Brilliant. All to see an extended sit com on the big screen. (not to mention the cheeky cosmo fuelled night out afterwards of course.)

What a result for the cast and crew. Gee I wonder if they'll do a sequel?

So, to all those boutique shops, bar owners, shoe sellers, photographers, beauty salons, geez even sex therapists, now is your time to jump on the bandwagon, get involved, the SATC pound will climb high this month.

Darjeeling anyone..?

Come along to mightysmall and you'll realise there is always lots of chat about tea. Who wants a cup? Which type? Is Tamsin's organic, caffeine free stuff actually drinkable? (You get the picture.)

This blog in fact is not about tea but about a good film I watched at the weekend. The film is called The Darjeeling Limited and is the latest film directed by Wes Anderson and Written by Roman Coppola. The cast is good. Bill Murray, Angelica Houston, Owen Wilson, Adrian Brody etc. They have all worked together before previously on the Royal Tenenbaums and Life Aquatic.

The movie was borne out of the success of a short film which Wes Anderson created first called Hotel Chevalier. The short film is on the DVD as a prologue which I thought was great, it worked almost like a secret before you see the full length film.

The two films are great, they are funny, quirky and beautifully shot.
The story itself is based on three brothers who haven't spoken for a year and go on a spiritual journey across India in the hope of bonding. The characters are brilliant. Oh and I'm told that Natalie Portman in her first ever nude scene also made it worth the watch ;)

Anyway it has my recommendation for some light entertainment.

Hopefully it will be your cup of tea.
