We had a new business meeting in Lambeth Walk in London last week and we found ourselves presenting in a fantastic building. It is actually the original home of Royal Doulton. Or to be more accurate Doulton of Lambeth as it was when this pottery was first opened in 1815. The building is particularly ornate as befits people who created beautiful stoneware (and London’s sewer pipes). The Doulton Company finally moved out of the Lambeth studio in 1956 when clean air regulations prohibited the production of salt glaze in an urban environment. Today it is home to a range of lucky organisations that do not have to spend 8.hours a day sitting in a featureless glass box.
