What's in a name?Click on image to zoom in

Over the last 20 years I've had a crack at all kinds of projects but the oddest so far is when our client Jamie from Valtti asked me to name all 105 colours in the new range of "Artist's paints." ( A positioning based on a strategy we've created for the launch of this exciting new interior paint).
So I set myself the simple task of matching all 105 colours in the range to 105 works of art by famous artists from the medieval to the modern era, who also chose to use these very same colours in their creations.
As a result the new range now boasts names such as "formaldehyde fleece" for a particular shade of off white and "hair of venus" for a rather beautiful yellow.
Actually this is a job I'm quite proud of. If only to save the world from yet another colour card of Barley white and sky blue.

And I've discovered that you don't get ejected from a National Gallery even when you hold a colour swatch up against a Renaissance masterpiece.
