We recently met up with the founders of Sherwood films to discuss mutual business opportunities.
They kindly invited us to join them at the Sherwood film club, held at the voodoo rooms in Edinburgh.
And what a great event it was. It’s a new venture and the idea is to bring together like-minded artists, musicians, film makers (and the odd ad agency) to showcase talents and share skills to help each other bring their ideas to life.
Sherwood for instance are shooting the second in their trilogy of horror movies (the first winning awards, despite a total production budget of twenty quid). And at the end of the evening they had a musician who’d offered to write an original score for the film. So clearly the idea works.
They even filmed a singer songwriter live on stage as part of a series they produce called “one song gigs.”
And the evening was made all the better spent in the company of our good friend, Darcie Tanner Condie. We discovered that she’s now joined Civic as their social marketing guru. So we’re looking forward to working with them in the very near future.

A Grand Prix night out to be precise. Because that’s what mightysmall walked away with at only our second Scottish ad awards. (Apart from the top award we also won best press ad, best press campaign, best professional ad and best ad on a mobile medium and a commendation for best poster campaign too, but we don’t want to show off).
We’re absolutely delighted and we’re just as pleased with the huge number of congratulatory messages we’ve been getting from, well everybody. Thanks a lot for all your kind words. They mean as much as the metal dirk.

After a competitive pitch between 4 Edinburgh agencies and design companies, mightysmall (having teamed up for the pitch with design company 39steps) have been appointed to the Waterfront Enterprises business. Waterfront Enterprises is a new venture, which aims to offer everything from corporate entertainment to IT training for Scotland’s business sector.
With exclusive access to the state of the art facilities offered by Telford college’s £71 million campus; it’s staff and even its students, Waterfront Enterprises is already making an impact in the market (Sir Tom Farmer has already used the facilities to organise a business event and dinner for 350).
Mightysmall has been asked to produce the brand communications strategy and 39steps will create the corporate identity and website

‘When we invited mightysmall to pitch they had been recommended to me by two contacts I spoke to about agencies. So, we put them on the pitch list and they didn’t disappoint. Mightysmall and 39steps are getting busy now helping Waterfront build a brand from scratch and we are looking forward to it being ready for market.”

We’ve just shot a TV campaign for a new client (a FTSE 100 company based in London). The scripts were humorous (or at least we hoped they were) so the search began for a comedy director. That’s when we met Paul from P for productions and he pitched one of his directors, Andy De Emmony to us. Andy and Paul have been a joy to work with and the films are looking really good (and luckily, funny too). We knew when we saw his reel that he was the man for us, Andy is a TV comedy/drama director and has shot episodes of Father Ted amongst many others.
He does a lot of work for the BBC too and last week his comedy drama “framed” premiered on BBC1. If you saw it you’ll appreciate how good he is at gentle humour and how he has a fantastic flair for casting.
When you see the new campaign he shot with us hopefully you’ll agree he’s pulled it off again.
