We've just won a pitch to create a new ad campaign for Bank of Scotland's sponsorship activities. We'll be working closely with our old friends Material and we're hoping to make new friends with Redpath who do all the design work on the business. We're excited about working on such a prestigious bit of business and I'm sure our bank manager will be just as chuffed.

Click on image to zoom in….is something we encourage of course. But when we opened our doors a mere 11 months ago we agreed that taking students on work experience placements was not going to work for us because
A) We’re small
B) We’re trying to get a new company off the ground.
Nice theory.
Over the summer we’ve entertained and hopefully informed Jenny from Susie Henry’s excellent Napier advertising course; Sarah a planner in the making from Glasgow University; Tom Watson an animator from Edinburgh College of Art; And Kirsty a 5th former from Mary Erskine School. And next week we’re taking an exchange student from Germany.
We just couldn’t say no. How else can we get eager new talent into our industry?

Click on image to zoom inAs if getting wet all weekend wasn't bad enough, we returned to mightysmall HQ to discover that our ceiling was soon to end up as our floor. Our upstairs neighbours, the kilt hire guys had a bit of a leak and it ended up on us. So a plumber was called and diagnosed the problem in a flash. Then just as quickly he was gone (without even coming down to mightysmall and looking at the ceiling). Impressive.
The thing was, the water kept on cascading and so we took the matter into our own hands and found the real leak...In an entirely different location to the one the plumber had apparently found. So now the guys upstairs have no water (we turned off their supply) and we have a room that looks like it did when we first moved in 11 months ago. No wonder people get annoyed with the attitude and aptitude of (some) British tradesmen.
Anyway we're seeing this as an opportunity to completely redecorate, using paint from our client Valtti's exciting new range (that we just happen to have named).
Now should the walls be in "Firework sky"? or perhaps "Hair of Venus"?

Have you seen the amazing documentary "Man on wire" yet? We went on a mightysmall outing to the Cameo cinema yesterday (along with our friend and fellow creative, Chris Muir). The documentary is about the highwire walker Philippe Petit whose lifelong dream it is to step out between the twin towers. It more than lived up to its 5 star reviews. The clever combination of real footage, re-enacted sequences and stills, is beautifully crafted (It felt as if it was all in black and white but we can't actually remember if it was). The story of this illegal adventure is as good as any thriller. And the cast of charismatic real life characters reveal their story with all the drama you would expect of the passionate French.
And the oscar goes to...
